A Christmas message from our Chief Executive
What a year 2022 has been… A year filled with 40th anniversary celebrations and acknowledgement of our NZTC community who have contributed their unique and individual talents to the college throughout the years.
Our 40-year milestone has offered us a valuable opportunity to look back at all that has been achieved throughout the college’s history and present, as we step into next year and beyond with confidence.
Our Vision, Heart, Competence and Spirit resulted in our fourth consecutive Category 1 awarding by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA). Being recognised as a tertiary provider that is ‘Highly Confident in Educational Performance’ and ‘Highly Confident in Self-Assessment’ is a testament to our hard-working team.
In true NZTC Spirit, we have loved gifting practical resources to our communities this year. Our team distributed uniquely designed Number Puzzle Cards to early childhood centres across the country and it has been a joy to see the creative ways tamariki have engaged with these puzzles as they develop their fine-motor and numeracy skills.
The college was also honoured to support the creation and publication of two early childhood education resources - ‘Inspired to Build’ and ‘Making Music Together’. These professional development library essentials were gifted to all of our 2022 ECE graduates, supporting them in their lifelong learning journey. And most importantly… our NZTC team has supported the graduation of 1,123 early childhood students and 763 health and wellbeing students. What a gift to sectors in critical need of caring, thoughtful, knowledgeable, simply outstanding graduates.
What a wonderful year full of Vision-led accomplishments, Heart-filled dedication, continued Competence, and an unwavering Spirit for all of those whose lives we touch.
As we close the book on 2022 and look forward to the next edition, I wish you a joyful Christmas and a Happy New Year. Here is to 2023 and everything that it holds.
